School for the Deaf, Riverside Counseling Department: Counseling
Department do not take any referrals from outside of
CSDR and they only provide counseling services within
CSDR.
Assessment Department: The Southern California Assessment Center for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing does take referrals from School Districts (per a mandate in the Ed Code) to do in-depth assessments of deaf and hard of hearing children. Any school district representative interested in having a child referred for assessment can contact the Assessment Center secretary, for a referral packet (951-782-6542). Acres – Deaf Services The Deaf Services Program provides a wide variety of services to deaf children and parents who reside in Los Angeles County. Services are delivered in ASL by professionals who understand the unique needs, strengths, values and culture of the deaf client and families with deaf children and/or parents. Outpatient services include individual, family and group treatment for child victims of physical and sexual abuse and neglect, as well as those at risk. Additional services of mental health treatment, crisis intervention and client advocacy are provided. Psychiatric evaluations are available as needed.
